3 weeks!
Can you believe we have been here for 3 weeks?! It just blows my mind to think how fast this time is flying by. I have been unemployed forever it seems like, and it's driving me nuts not having things I need to do. I am waiting to hear back from a credit union so crossing my fingers something great will turn up this week. As for our apartment we get to move into our place on the 17th!! This furnished apartment is not all that its cracked up to be. We decided to make it home for turkey day and we are both looking forward to that week to see family and friends. So.... this last friday was BK's birthday, glad to say he has successfully turned 24 four times now. We had a small celebration here at home and went out to the olive garden for "birthday cake" later that evening. It worked out great in the sense that I didn't feel like I needed to eat birthday cake for every meal until it was gone. So it all turned out yummy. To celebrate the big way we planned an adventure to six flags a short 30 minutes from our apartment (we are so excited for how close we are to it!!), but of course I had to get sick with a nasty cold. In the long run its worked out pretty good though. Bk has got a lot of study time in, and was able to play some games with his friends and nephews over the computer which he was excited he had the oppourtunity to do that.

A New Start
Bk and I have made it thru our first week at med school here in Milwaukee (if orientation counts). I decided it might be a good idea to start a blog of this exciting adventure we are embarking on. My intentions are slowly forming into actions :o) hopefully I can keep up with it. Bk had a week full of orientation filled with tours of the school, financial aid packets, background checks I could go on with all the excitement. We got here with our trailer full of stuff that Bk's parents were gracious enough to drive up here with us last Sunday, and left just yesterday for their 3 day journey back to Utah. It was so fun to have them here this first week to help us get all settled and to explore the city together. We did manage to make it to the movies twice eat out several times which have made me feel so yuck. Bk and I took his mom to Lake Michigan while his dad stayed at the apt to rest. It is a really pretty place in some places and gets pretty sketchy in others. This whole experience of moving away from "home" has really put into perspective the importance of my family, and how grateful I am for the family I married into. Monday Bk starts with school, I am onto finding a job.... oh goodie.
Here is Marianne and I at Lake Michigan
